There’s no such thing as a perfect Christmas

There’s no such thing as a perfect Christmas. Everyone’s life, and financial situation, is different.

  • 40% of Australians revealed ‘paying for Christmas is getting harder and harder every year’.
  • 55% of Australians know people who will be lonely this Christmas
  • 1.6 million Australians, with children under the age of 10, are too poor to buy presents – the result of escalating power prices, unaffordable housing and unemployment.

Let’s not compare our Christmas with others, with what we see in the movies or on TV. Instead let’s enjoy the one we have. Let’s be content with what we own, the size of our home, the age of our car and the dynamics of our families. Sure, there will have an argument – or three! – on Christmas Day but Christmas, as we know, is a celebration of people being together, not the perfect tree.
