Could you wait for a new wardrobe this Lent?

Today is the 1st day of Lent.

We’ve all got clothes in our wardrobe that we’ve never worn – I have!.

Sometimes clothes are so inexpensive we feel compelled to buy them. The lure of the bargain? The 70% off sale tag?

Social media site Carousell claims that some women are spending more than $10,000 a year on clothes in a bid to ‘keep up with the Joneses’. Australians send 6000kg of clothes to landfill every 10 minutes.

I’m challenging Aussie women to buy no new clothes for Lent. I reckon it’s a great opportunity for us all – me included – to spend 40 days inspecting all our clothes as well as swapping, sharing and selling clothes we’ve never worn or don’t wear anymore.

Grab some friends, some bubbly and have a clothes swapping party – It’s a great way to get a new wardrobe without actually buying anything new!

Lent runs ‪from 6 March to 20 April‬
