Every week in Sydney they have a Sydney cycle lunch, where anyone and everyone who is interested in cycling, bicycles, bikeway planning and bicycle community events gets together to chat, share ideas, brainstorm, create events, swap data and information and generally chew-the-fat about all things cycling and bicycles. 2013 sees this idea replicated in Brisbane with the first Brisbane Bicycle Lunch on Thursday 17th January 2013
Meet at – Tognini’s, Hynes Street, Fortitude Valley (behind the HQ building and 99 bikes cycle centre and 1 minute walk from the Glider Bus stop) Time – 12 noon – 1pm
Everyone and anyone welcome – advocates, professional cyclists, bike shops, engineers, planners, public sector officers, NGO’s, bicycle designers, students, city planners, academics, health professionals, politicians and anyone who just loves cycling and bicycles. No committee, no-one wearing the ‘in charge’ hat, no meeting minutes just an opportunity for like-minded people to get together.
* No RSVP
* A ‘Brisbane Bicycle Lunch’ sign will be placed on a table
If you can’t make this Thursday the next get-together is scheduled for Thursday 31st January and fortnighly/monthly thereafter depending on numbers/interest
