The Lab is now open! The Maker Marathon in photos

Today we opened our BMW Guggenheim Lab #BMWGuggLab in Berlin. Our first day is a Marker Marathon. It’s absolutely fantastic…. old people, young people, people from Berlin and people from far away lands are making amazing things. Men are sewing, women are using power tools to build chairs and children are doing incredible things with sensors and 3D printers. I’ve played a banana piano and participated in human weaving!

“FAB IN THE LAB” – The most fabulous person in the Lab so far today is a little 4 year old girl. She rolled into Pfefferberg on a pink bicycle wearing a fairy fancy dress outfit. She dropped her bike on the ground, ran to a “Maker Table’, pulled up a chair, climbed up and got stuck into making. That’s what the Lab is all about… engaging people of all ages in making and debating the future of cities and urban places. Three cheers for the ‘Bicycle-riding Maker Fairy’!

Here are some of my best bits so far…
